Pickup Procedures

Office Recycling Procedures :
The Facilities Maintenance (FM) personnel listed for each cluster are responsible for cleaning certain areas of campus. They take recycling from the hallways and central office locations to the pick-up points inside or outside of each building. USU Recycling personnel then empty the bins or cages at the designated pick-up points. In smaller buildings on campus, USU Recycling personnel empty all of the bins listed for the building. Click on your building in the list below, and the pick-up points are indicated, along with the days they are picked up. If USU Recycling personnel empty all of the bins listed, there will be a note indicating so, otherwise, the FM personnel take centrally located ones to the pick-up points. Each office on campus should have recycling bins. If you do not, and would like some, please contact us. Bins in individual offices are the responsibility of the office occupants. They should empty those bins into the centrally located bins nearest them. If you have questions, contact Jay T. Price at 770-6229 or usu_recycling@yahoo.com, or contact the FM supervisors or managers listed with each building by area of responsibility. (To reach a radio number, dial 797-4060, wait for the beep, and enter the radio number indicated.)

Classroom Recycling Procedures:
There are also paper-recycling bins in nearly every classroom on campus. Two volunteer groups, ECOS and the United Campus Volunteers, have acquired those bins and placed them in the classrooms. The Aggie Recyclers Club is now responsible to empty them, not the FM or Recycling personnel. Please contact Ashley Walker if you have any questions: ALWALKER@cc.usu.edu about classroom bins.

Residence Hall Recycling Procedures:
There are also recycling bins in each apartment on campus. USU Housing has acquired those bins and is therefore responsible for them. Each apartment is to empty their own bins into the nearest outside recycling container. From there, USU Recycling personnel empty it. If you see an outdoor recycling cage that is full, please call us at 797-2011 and specify whether it is the cardboard section or the other sections. The cardboard section gets emptied twice a week, but the other sections are only emptied when needed. Contact USU Housing for any questions regarding these bins: http://www.housing.usu.edu/
