Rape, sexual assault, threats and intimidation, physical violence, stalking, and other forms of abusive and hurtful relationships are not tolerated at Utah State University. These behaviors not only violate state law, they violate the USU student code of conduct and are subject to university sanctions.
To learn more about university policy regarding these behaviors, please refer to the following sections of "The Code of Policies and Procedures for Students at Utah State University":
- Article V, Section V-3, Subsection B. "Misconduct", #23: This section addresses physical or mental duress, harm or abuse, verbal abuse, threats and intimidation, stalking, sexual violence, arson, and murder.
- Article V, Section V-3, Subsection B. "Misconduct", #24: This section addresses sexual harassment.
- Article V, Section V-3, Subsection B. "Misconduct", #25: This section addresses inappropriate use of university computers and network/data systems. (Note: Hurtful relationships may include "electronic" abuse---accessing/using student's accounts and information without permission, forcing someone to view pornography, etc.)
- Article V, Section V-3, Subsection B. "Misconduct", #27: This section addresses hazing.
- Article VI: This section refers to university disciplinary procedures and rights of students involved in disciplinary proceedings (both students who are victims of misconduct and students who commit misconduct).
