Timber Harvest Tour

Join us for the third annual Timber Harvest Tour, in Hobble Creek just south of Provo, featuring fresh air and cool mountain temperatures. We will examine a selective timber harvest operation that was completed by the Uinta National Forest four years ago. From Springville we will drive up Hobble Creek about 15 miles to Timber Mountain. Foresters from the USDA Forest Service, USU Extension, and the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire & State Lands will be on hand to answer questions and facilitate discussion.

Schedule: Meet at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 10, 2003 at the Brookside Elementary School in Springville (Take I-15 Exit 263, go 2 miles east on Hwy 77, Across from Reamís Food Store: 750 East 400 South) From here we will car pool/caravan up the Right Fork Hobble Creek, the last several miles of which require four wheel drive and reasonable clearance. Lunch and beverages will be provided, with a scheduled return to Springville 2:00 pm. Please RSVP Darren McAvoy by Thursday July 8 at 435-797-0560 or to darren.mcavoy@usu.edu.
