Personal Web Material Directory Sturcture

The diagram below represents your structure of directories on the VMS system (the server with the cc.usu.edu address).

The box on the top is your WWW directory. (It will actually be a sub-directory of your root directory on the VMS system).

The WWW directory will have two sub-directories...IMAGES and AUDIO.

You will save your .html files in the WWW directory. All images (.gif or .jpg) will go in the IMAGES sub-directory. All audio files (.wav, .au, or .aiff) will go in the AUDIO sub-directory.

The diagram below represents your structure of directories on the main university web server (the server with the www.usu.edu address).

You will create a directory called .html. This directory will have three sub-directories...IMAGES, AUDIO and MOVIES.

You will save your .html files in the HTML directory. All images (.gif or .jpg) will go in the IMAGES sub-directory. All audio files (.wav, .au, or .aiff) will go in the AUDIO sub-directory and all video clips (.mov or .avi) will go in the MOVIES sub-directory.
