BEAR RIVER ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS
The Small Business Development Center works with
BRAG through their NxLevel Business Plan For Success course.
This course is offered in the spring and fall (See
Events).
BRAG is a valuable resource to the community in many ways;
for small business, it offers a revolving loan fund and
micro loan fund.
The revolving loan ($15,000
- $100,000) is usually in conjunction with another lending
institution. Emphasis is on job creation.
BRAG simply agrees to assume more of the risk, making
the loan more likely.
The micro-loan fund is specifically aimed at the
economically disadvantaged. Loans are up to $15,000. It provides loans
to businesses who would be refused by bank, whose owners
may have poor credit ratings, a lack of personal investment,
inadequate collateral, but who can convince BRAG that
their business idea will be successful.
They require a business plan and, for the micro-loan,
attendance
at
the SBDC’s
NxLevel Business Plan For Success Class. Scholarships
are offered for the NxLevel class, based on income (See
Workshops).
