| Jeff Hazboun, USU physicist, wildlife biologist and extreme kayaker, recounts his adventures as science coordinator of a National Geographic-sponsored expedition into Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula. Jeff and team members from his non-profit group, "The Kamchatka Project," explored pristine, yet imperiled, salmon (and bear) habitat amid Kamchatka's spectacular volcanoes. The group is fostering conservation measures.
