Dr. Daryll B. Dewald, search committee chair

Professor and Head, Department of Biology

Dr. DeWald joined Utah State University in 1995. His research program is in cell biology with a focus on cancer. He has been head of the Biology Department since 2006. Dr. DeWald received his PhD in biochemistry from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Lance C. Seefeldt

Professor, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry

Dr. Seefeldt's research interests are in the areas of metalloprotein structure and function and bioenergy. His research program is funded by grants from the NIH, DOE and NSF. He teaches both chemistry and biochemistry classes and serves on a number of departmental and university committees.

Dr. Lisa M. Berreau

Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry

Associate Dean, College of Science

Dr. Berreau's research interests are in the areas of synthetic bioinorganic chemistry. Her responsiblities as associate dean include research and faculty issues. She has served on the faculty library advisory council since 2003.

Dr. Tom Cheng-Wei Chang

Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry

Dr. Chang is a graduate of Tunghai University (Taiwan, B.S. chemistry) and Washington University (Ph.D. chemistry). He has been a faculty member at USU since 2000. Dr. Chang teaches organic chemistry and conducts research in organic synthesis with emphasis on antimicrobial and anticancer agents.

Dr. Bradley S. Davidson

Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry

The goal of Dr. Davidson's research is the study of the structural chemistry of naturally occurring compounds and gaining an understanding of how their structure affects stability, reactivity and biological activity. He earned MS and PhD degrees from Cornell University.

Dr. Christine E. Hailey

Associate Dean, College of Engineering

Dr. Hailey is director of the National Center for Engineering and Technology Education (NCETE), a member of the ADVANCE-US team, and a co-PI on the NSF-funded project, "Learning Companions as Change Agents: Improving Girls' Self-Efficacy Beliefs in Learning Math." As associate dean, she supports research infrastructure, budget issues, assessment and faculty development, as well as serving as an advocate for issues that impact female faculty's effectiveness and satisfaction in the four engineering and science colleges at USU.

Dr. Jon Y. Takemoto, search committee manager

Professor, Department of Biology

Dr. Takemoto has been a faculty member at USU for 33 years. He is a former head of the Department of Biology and teaches and conducts research in microbiology. Dr. Takemoto received his PhD in microbiology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
