"Seeing Double: The Origins of Cloning"
Animal cloning may seem like the stuff of science fiction, but it's here... How, exactly, does it work? And how will it affect our future?
USU scientist Ken White opens Science Unwrapped's new "Origins" series on January 29 with an fascinating talk about cloning and its implications for science. White was a member of the first research team in the world to successfully clone a member of the horse family -- a mule.
Little "Idaho Gem" was born in Idaho on May 4, 2003 -- the first clone of a hybrid animal (a mule results from a cross between a female horse and a male donkey.)
