"Whispers from the Cosmos: Listening to Gravity's Hidden Message"

What is the universe trying to tell us?

Scientists speculate that gravitational waves transport energy known as "gravitational radiation" from binary star systems that ripples through our solar system. Physicist Albert Einstein described the waves in his 1916 Theory of General Relativity as ripples in space-time. He predicted that mass moves through space creating gravitational waves much like a boat creates waves as it moves through water.

Join USU physicist Shane Larson, as he introduces the idea of gravitational waves and what we can learn from them.

The gathering, held in USU's award-winning Performance Hall, features the multimedia performance "Einstein's Cosmic Messengers" by world-renowned musician and video artist Andrea Centazzo.
