Options for Transfer Students
Transfer Preparation Session (for students with more than 24 post-high school credits)
Transfer Preparation Sessions are an optional half-day program for transfer students who have at least 24 college credits (not including AP or concurrent enrollment).
Like the SOAR sessions for incoming freshmen, Transfer Preparation Sessions focus on giving you vital information that will make your transition to Utah State easier. Your time will be spent receiving critical information about policies, procedures, and resources specific to Utah State University. Though campus tours will be available for those who are interested, they are completely optional.
We realize that transfer students are typically not looking for a traditional orientation experience. We strive to keep the day concise and relevant.
At the end of the day, members of the University's orientation staff will be on hand to help you register for classes or adjust your classes. Please be aware that if you would like to register for classes on this day, you will need to have spoken with your academic advisor in advance, on your own, to have your advising hold removed and to know which classes to take. Find your advisor's contact information at http://www.usu.edu/advising/advisors/.
If you would like to get your student ID card on this day, please bring $10. You will also be able to purchase a General Catalog for $10 in the Bookstore if would like a hard copy.
Length: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Dates: June 6; August 15
Cost: Free. You will also receive a free Aggie Handbook and Planner. If you would like to purchase your student ID card on this day, bring $10.
