Welcome
to the web site for the Department of Sociology, Social Work and
Anthropology at Utah State University. Our department
offers undergraduate degree programs in Anthropology,
Social Work, and Sociology. We also offer an interdisciplinary
Master of Social Science degree program in International
Rural and Community Development, and Masters and PhD
degree programs in Sociology. A Master of Social Work program began Fall 2008, and an MS program in Archaeology and CRM begins Fall 2009
Students in
each of our degree programs have the opportunity to take courses
from and work with faculty members who are nationally
and internationally prominent teachers and researchers.
Our programs are carefully designed to provide extensive opportunities
for students to engage in hands-on learning experiences
both in classroom settings and through participation on faculty
members’ research projects. Our location in northern
Utah provides extensive access to recreational activities
in the mountains of the surrounding Bear River Range while also
providing access to the services and amenities available in a
growing and vibrant small urban community.
If you have
questions about the Department, please feel free to contact
us for further information.
