OUTCOMES DATA
A review of the USU 2009 Employment/Education survey of graduates for the
Department of Sociology, Social Work and Sociology is provided below. As Table 1 indicates, for students completing
the undergraduate programs in the department, 66% were employed and 33% were
continuing their education. Another
three percent were in volunteer service and a final seven percent % were home
with children. Of those pursuing
additional education, 83% were full-time students, 73% of whom were working on Masters
degrees.
For those who were working, 90% were working full time with 79% in jobs that
were either related to their degree or somewhat related to their degree
program. Table 2 shows that of those working,
37% were in government; 26% in education; 26% in business or industry. Sixty-three percent of USU’s
SSWA undergraduate majors who were employed were working at jobs in
