Dr. Egbert is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Social Work in the Department of Sociology, Social Work & Anthropology. She joined the department at Utah State University in 2008. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 2001.
Dr. Egbert received her social work education at Brigham Young University (BSW 1989), Portland State University (MSW 1994), and the University of Utah (PhD 2001). She was with the University of Utah College of Social Work from 1997 to 2008, most recently focusing on child welfare research as a Research Associate Professor in the University of Utah Social Research Institute. Susan is passionate about improving the welfare of children, strengthening families, and promoting human healing through direct social work practice, research, and systems change. Her special interests include adoption, foster care, and the prevention of child abuse. She and her amazing partner, James, are currently raising six children.
