SSWA OUTCOMES DATA

A review of the USU 2009 Employment/Education survey of graduates for the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Sociology is provided below.  As Table 1 indicates, for students completing the undergraduate programs in the department, 66% were employed and 33% were continuing their education.  Another three percent were in volunteer service and a final seven percent % were home with children.  Of those pursuing additional education, 83% were full-time students, 73%  of whom were working on Masters degrees.

For those who were working, 90% were working full time with 79% in jobs that were either related to their degree or somewhat related to their degree program.  Table 2 shows that of those working, 37% were in government; 26% in education; 26% in business or industry.  Sixty-three percent of USU’s SSWA undergraduate majors who were employed were working at jobs in Utah.
