Although a native of Ohio, she moved to Logan many years ago when her husband decided to pursue a degree program at Utah State. With her degree in Social Work, she was employed at the USU Center for Persons with Disabilities for 8 years before beginning her international education career. She has been a volunteer for over 18 years with outreach programs for international students. She has extensive travel and living experiences in many parts of the world, and particularly loves the opportunity to spend time with her international friends and colleagues during her travels.

She is an avid cross-country skier, and hiker. She also organizes and teaches American and international folk dances in the local community, and during her participation in teacher training programs in Chile and China, taught English teachers, how to square dance American style.

Alexandra Dee
Summer Programs
Coordinator

Alexandra is a Kiwi (New Zealander) who came to Logan to be closer to her American relatives while attending university. She has been at the Office of Study Abroad for over 2 years, with a break in Fall 08 for her own study abroad adventure in Sicily. After graduating next year in International Studies she plans to go back to New Zealand and work for non-profit organizations/NGO's, or study abroad & volunteer companies. In the meantime, she enjoys challenging herself with activities like rock climbing, modern dance and anything else outside her comfort zone. She is a gypsy at heart and loves the experience of discovering fresh new places and people.

Sara Hunt
Peer Advisor

Sara was raised in Pocatello, Idaho where her parents continue to raise chickens, a bountiful garden, two dogs, and numerous freeloader gophers and rabbits. Although deeply attached to her home, Sara is an avid traveler. She has spent time in Mexico and Indonesia, traveled extensively throughout Europe, and studied abroad for a year in Spain and a semester in Chile. Some of her most interesting academic experiences outside of the US have been volunteering on organic farms in Spain and participating in phytoremediation research in Chile to restore copper contaminated soils. In her spare time wherever she is Sara enjoys reading, listening to people's stories, cooking, and sharing good food and drink. Sara will work in the Study Abroad office as a peer advisor until she graduates in May 2010. Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive and formative experiences she has had in her travels, Sara is enthusiastic about helping other students organize their own study abroad.
