Activities in Cache Valley
Cache Valley is Logan and the area surrounding it. Fur trappers once roamed this area, and planned two of the largest rendezvous here. The valley was named by these early mountain men. The name "Cache" is a French word that means to "store one's treasures."
There is so much to do in this valley! Keep reading the student newspaper-it will keep you updated on current events- and read below for some fantastic options!
American West Heritage Center - This website is continuously updated with current news and activities. The AWHC hosts everything from Mountain Man Rendezvous to Corn Mazes.
Cache Valley Cruise-In - For those of you here in the summer. This is one of the largest car shows in the West and includes a parade down the main street in Logan.
Beaver Mountain Ski Resort - The only ski resort in Cache Valley with great prices for students. All ski classes at the university are taught at this resort. For information about skiing all over Utah, please click here .
Bear Lake - Just up Logan Canyon, this beautiful lake is well worth the trip. It is fun for swimming, skiing and camping. For more information about camping at Bear Lake, click here .
George S. Eccles Ice Center - This ice-skating arena is home to all of USU's ice-skating, hockey and curling classes. It is a great place to unwind and have fun.
Ellen Eccles Theatre - This theatre is Logan's cultural center and has a myriad of activities every year with cultural events, musicals, ballets, and the not-to-be-missed Bar J Wrangler's Christmas concert.
Hardware Ranch - This elk refuge is so much fun to visit. In the winter you can take a sleigh ride out among the elk at feeding time. This is a must-do event in Cache Valley.
You athletic students will want to participate in the Top of Utah Marathon . This is a grueling marathon that is considered one of the best in America.
Cache Valley is famous for the food it produces ranging from cheese to cookies to honey to the famous Aggie Ice Cream!

In the fall there are many activities such as pumpkin walks and hay bale and corn mazes. Look in the student newspaper or come to our office for more information on these events.
