Logan Weather
Weather is an ever present factor of life in Utah. Seasons can change slowly, over a period of weeks, one year and change overnight the next year. This makes it hard to predict the weather here.
Here are some generalizations about the different seasons in Utah
- Spring (April, May) is warm and mild. Utah starts warming up from its long freeze around the end of March. The mountains turn green and the animals start coming out of hiding.
- Summer (June, July, August) ranges from mild (75 F) to hot (90 F) from year to year. Many people play at nearby Bear Lake or use the opportunity to go rock climbing or hiking up Logan Canyon. White water rafting is a fun way to stay cool in these mountain regions.
- Fall (September, October) is cool and crisp. This is the season when everybody is preparing for the winter ahead. Last minute outdoor activities abound, one of which is enjoying the beautiful fall foliage in Logan Canyon.
- Winter (November, December, January, February, March) ranges form cold to colder. Utah is literally a playground for snow loving people. Beaver Mountain near Logan provides a close, inexpensive snow boarding and skiing retreat for USU students. Olympic venues around Salt Lake City are also fun for skiers and snow boarders.
