Practical Matters

The Utah State University (USU) Office of Study Abroad encourages parents to be involved in all aspects of the study abroad process.

USU has many quality programs to offer students at over 125 institutions and locations world-wide. We urge you to review the many options with your son or daughter and find a program that bests suits their academic needs and interests. With all programs affiliated with USU, and by carefully planning with their USU academic advisor, students can earn credit toward USU degree requirements. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We appreciate your interest in this life-changing and enriching opportunity for your student.

Does your student want to study in English?

At over 100 universities worldwide, and even in places where the native language is not English, there are university programs taught in English. Students can select Short-Term Summer options or longer Semester/Academic year time periods.

Does your student want to build language skills or study major/minor course work in another language?

Sometimes students struggle with language acquisition if they do not have the opportunity to spend time immersed in the language and culture of another country. Many USU Faculty-Led Programs during summer months often provide opportunities for students to have these experiences and build their language skills. Opportunities also exist for the beginning to advanced language student for other short-term, semester, or academic year programs of study in a second language.
