Courts Have Become Political

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says confirmation hearings for the nation's highest court have become "mini-constitutional conventions." Scalia, keynote speaker Monday at a two-day conference on freedom and law at Utah State University, objected to the notion of a "living constitution" and decisions tailored to meet an "evolving standard of decency," the Deseret Morning News reported Tuesday.
