Utah State Softball Announces 2013 Schedule

Utah State [University] head coach Carissa Kalaba announced the 2013 softball schedule, highlighted with four home series with Western Athletic Conference foes.

USU will host conference foes New Mexico State, UTSA, Louisiana Tech and Texas State at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Field. Four in-state foes will also be making the trip to Logan as the Aggies play host to Utah, Brigham Young, Utah Valley and Southern Utah.

The Aggies will lock horns with four new conference teams in 2013 as the WAC welcomes UTSA, Seattle, the University of Texas, Arlington and Texas State. It will be the first time in the program's history that Utah State will match up against UTSA and Texas State. USU is 1-0 against Seattle and UTA all-time. This is the Aggies eighth and final season in the WAC before moving to the Mountain West Conference for the 2014 softball season.

The Aggies will open the 2013 campaign in the Beehive state as they lead off action in the Red Desert Classic in St. George, Utah. Utah State will also play in the Hillenbrand Invitational hosted by the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., the University of Texas Tournament in Austin, Texas, the San Diego Classic hosted by San Diego State and the University of San Diego. USU will finish tournament action in the Boise State Tournament in Boise, Idaho.

LA Tech will host the 2013 WAC Tournament for the first time in conference history. A new conference champion will be named at the Lady Techsters Softball Complex as reigning WAC champion, BYU will play its 2013 season in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference. The top six teams in the standings will qualify for the WAC Tournament.
