USU HOLDS ANNUAL STRING CHAMBER MUSIC RECITAL

LOGAN, UT – The Utah State University String Program presents its annual fall concert Monday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall on the USU Logan campus.

“Chamber music holds a special place here at Utah State,” said Bradley Ottesen, string faculty member in the Caine College of the Arts. “It’s one of the great strengths of our program and provides a window into the personality of the performer.”

All students in the string program will perform, showcasing the hours of preparation dedicated to this culminating performance. Students will present the music of Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, Gioachino Rossini and other classical masters.

The students in the string program are taught by members of the Fry Street Quartet and participate in master classes with members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center — made possible through the Chamber Music Society of Logan — and the Jerusalem String Quartet.

“Students, come see what your colleagues are capable of,” said Ottesen. “When I was a student, some of the most meaningful feedback I have ever received came not from conductors, teachers or reviews, but from my friends and roommates that took the time to attend a performance.”

Tickets for the String Chamber Music recital are $10 general admission, $8 seniors & youth, $5 USU faculty and staff and free for USU students with valid ID. For more information and tickets, visit the Caine College of the Arts Box Office in room 139-B of the Chase Fine Arts Center on USU’s campus, call 435-797-8022 or see the college website (arts.usu.edu).
