THEATRE DEPARTMENT FACULTY MEMBER IS THE FEATURED SPEAKER AT KIGER HOUR MARCH 21
LOGAN — Leslie Brott, a seasoned actress and head of the acting program at Utah State University, presents “‘Truth Knows No Size’ – Acting at the Utah Shakespeare Festival” at the next Kiger Hour March 21. Her experience onstage, combined with expertise directing and voice coaching, gives her unique insight into what it takes to perform during the renowned festival.
“Acting on the full-thrust, open air Adams stage of the Utah Shakespeare Festival requires specialized skills in addition to an actor’s usual palate of techniques,” Brott said.
She will discuss a few of these tricks of the trade during her Kiger Hour presentation.
Prior to joining the faculty in USU’s Department of Theatre Arts, she taught in the professional actor training programs at Southern Methodist University and the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana. Brott has spent 14 seasons with the Utah Shakespeare Festival as an actor.
She trained at Penn State University and is a member of the Actor’s Equity Association. She has worked with many theaters, including the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Dallas Theatre Center, GeVa Theatre, PCPA Theatrefest, Great River Shakespeare Festival, Sacramento Theatre Company, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Southwest Shakespeare Festival, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival and the Salt Lake Acting Company.
