Logan 400 North Roadway Improvements

Monday, Jun. 24, 2013

Access to the Utah State University campus via Champ Drive from 400 North has been affected due to ongoing roadway improvements. While access is still limited, the end is in sight. Completion of the 400 North (US-89) roadway and safety improvements between Main Street and Canyon Road at the mouth of Logan canyon is expected Friday, June 28.

Anticipated projects and work dates are below.

June 24-25: Microsurfacing operations will continue Monday and Tuesday on 400 North between Champ Drive on the USU campus and Canyon Road at the mouth of Logan Canyon.

  • 400 North will be restricted to one lane in each direction in the work zone.
  • One-way flagging operations will be in effect at the mouth of the canyon.
  • On-street parking along 400 North will not be permitted during the work.
  • The two eastern-most USU parking lots on the south side of 400 North will be closed Monday and Tuesday and USU patrons will be asked to park in the western-most lot (700 East) on those days.

Monday, June 24:  Crews plan to microsurface the north side of 400 North between Champ Drive and Canyon Road.

  • Cross-street access to/from 400 North will be closed at 1200 East and 1500 East to accommodate proper curing of the newly placed micro-seal. Traffic will be detoured to 1350 East as an alternate.
  • Champ Drive, entrances to USU student housing and 1350 East will remain open during the work.

Tuesday, June 25: Crews plan to microsurface the south side of 400 North between Champ Drive and Canyon Road.

  • Cross-streets, accesses on the north side of the street and access to the U.S. Forest Service Visitor's Center are expected to remain open during this work.

June 24-27: Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane restrictions throughout the week between Main Street (US-91) and the mouth of the canyon for miscellaneous spot patching, lane striping and installation of pavement messages.

Construction crews will work Monday through Thursday (June 24-27) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
