Utah State Aggie fans everywhere have a chance to show their support of Utah State University Athletics as the university participates in the second annual College Color Days online competition.

While the main celebration is Friday, Aug. 30, Utah State is stretching the fun out two days to include Thursday, Aug. 29, when the USU football team opens its season that day at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

The Facebook-based rivalry competition, which includes more than 160 participating colleges and universities and is an element of this year’s 2013 College Colors Day celebration, kicks off Monday, Aug. 12, and runs through 11:59 p.m. EST Thursday, Aug. 29.  Fans can vote once each day on Facebook and can check who is winning the competition nationally or within each conference.

The winner will be announced on College Colors Day Friday, Aug. 30.

This year, College Colors Day is joining forces with the Uplifting Athletes organization. Uplifting Athletes is committing all proceeds to benefit the fight against rare diseases. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans. There are currently more than 7,000 rare diseases, 75 percent of which affect children.

College Colors Day is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience by encouraging fans across America to wear their favorite college or university apparel throughout the day on Aug. 30.

The national spirit competition is presented by The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG College, and NCAA Football.

Aggie fans are also encouraged to share the Pledge Your Allegiance for College Colors Day competition through Facebook.
