USU Extension Hosts Legal Risk and Tax Management Workshop

           
LOGAN — Utah State University Extension’s Utah Building Farmers Program hosts a legal risk and tax management workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the USU Botanical Center Utah House, 920 South 50 West, in Kaysville.

           
According to Kynda Curtis, USU Extension agricultural marketing specialist and conference organizer, legal risk management discussion topics include prioritizing risks and limiting liability, business structures and contract considerations. Tax management and liability topics include depreciation considerations, hobby loss rules, 1099 forms and 2013 changes.

           
Registration cost is $20 per farm or ranch (two people) at the door. Contact Curtis at kynda.curtis@usu.eduor 435-797-0444 by noon on Tuesday, Nov. 19, to RSVP.  Registration fee includes dinner and all materials.
