Eric Dowdle Visits Utah State University for Puzzle Unveiling

Artist Eric Dowdle to unveil USU-themed puzzle Friday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. in the USU Credit Union/University Welcome Center.

Utah State University will unveil an Eric Dowdle commemorative puzzle featuring university landmarks, buildings, people and traditions Friday, Oct. 21, from 3-5 p.m., in the USU Credit Union and University Welcome Center (890 E. 700 North—Aggie Bull-evard Logan UT).

“This puzzle comes together with the hard work of the USU Alumni Relations staff and is a great piece of Aggie memorabilia for any of our alumni,” said Lane Thomas, Alumni advisory board president. “The artwork itself is full of fun and interesting details about USU.”

Dowdle is a well-known folk artist from Utah who has captivated people of all ages with the wit, charm and detail with which he portrays scenes from around the United States and the world. His paintings are highly valued by collectors and distributed as high-quality prints, gifts and puzzles.

“Aggies over the years will be delighted to see the integration of old and new buildings and traditions incorporated into the artwork—including Aggie ice cream, our beloved Block “A,” and the church on 400 North formerly known as the ‘Golden Toaster’,” said David Clark, associate vice president of Alumni Relations. “President Stan Albrecht is even included in the painting—a fitting commemoration of his nearly 12 years of leadership at USU.”

The USU puzzle will be for sale on site at the unveiling for $20 each. Dowdle will be at the unveiling to sign puzzle boxes and will provide a “Be Part of the Art” option. For an additional fee, customers can provide photos, and Dowdle will draw additional people into the artwork.

The puzzle was commissioned by USU Alumni Relations and can only be purchased through them. The puzzles will be available online beginning Oct. 24, 2016. For more information, visit usu.edu/alumni/puzzle.
