USU Guitar Students Give Spring Concert in Caine Performance Hall

Tuesday, Apr. 11, 2017

The annual spring Guitar Ensembles concert is Monday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Caine Performance Hall at Utah State University and features one acoustic guitar ensemble and two electric guitar ensembles.

There will be a performance by USU alum Pat Boyack, who has gone on to be a successful and influential blues guitarist residing in Dallas, Texas. Boyack has toured the world with blues acts and shared the stage with many blues icons.

“I want to bring alumnus of the USU guitar program back to Logan to celebrate their successes and show our students that we have a legacy at USU,” Corey Christiansen, head of the guitar program in the Caine College of the Arts, said. “Our program has sent out some top-tier players in to the world and we have a lot to be proud of here at USU.”

Christiansen noted the electric guitar ensembles will perform mostly blues and rock oriented music at this concert.

“There’s something for everyone at this concert,” Christiansen said. “Any guitar lover will appreciate this program.”

Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 seniors and youth, $5 USU faculty and staff and free for USU students with ID. For more information and tickets, visit the CCA Box Office located in room L-101 of the Chase Fine Arts Center on USU’s campus, call 435-797-8022 or go online at cca.usu.edu.
