USU-Ephraim Hire New Faculty Member to Run Partnership with Snow College
Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018
“I’m very excited to embark on this new adventure with USU-Ephraim and Snow,” said Gibson. “Snow is a wonderful institution that has given their students great academic programs and student life. Many of these students want to continue their education while staying in Ephraim, and this partnership makes it possible for them to do just that.”
Gibson has been working at USU since 2012, with the majority of her time being spent at a regional campus or center. Gibson was drawn to USU because of its “philosophy and mission of educational outreach, giving students throughout the state the opportunity to earn a college degree.” Gibson has worked in higher education for decades at the undergraduate and graduate levels in both faculty and administrative roles.
“I love the creativity and flexibility of my role,” said Gibson. “Although teaching is a major component, and I’ll be teaching four to five management classes per semester, I have been given the latitude to develop the economic development portion of my role. It has been and continues to be a privilege to serve as a regional campus faculty, and I believe that wherever a major university has a presence, like USU, it should also serve as a resource to the community.”
When she’s not working, Gibson can be found hiking, watching “Groundhog Day,” eating filet mignon, reading the book “Crazy Rich Asians” and enjoying a slice of pecan pie.
