University Catering Assistant Director Wins Award at Regional NACUFS

Amy Rasmussen was awarded the Regional Director Distinguished Service Award by Continental Pacific Regional National Association of College & University Food Services. Cordell Briggs of Brigham Young University presented her with the award.

Amy Rasmussen, assistant director of University Catering & Special Venues at Utah State University, was awarded the Regional Director Distinguished Service Award for her time and service as education chair for the Continental Pacific Regional National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS). The award was presented by Cordell Briggs, associate director of Brigham Young University Dining Services at the NACUFS conference. 

Rasmussen is heavily involved in NACUFS and was a presenter at the National NACUFS Convention in Rhode Island in 2018, where she discussed the USU Dining Services values program, widely known as the PREDICT. PREDICT focuses on the core values of the of  passion, respect, empowerment, dedication, integrity, continuous improvement and teamwork. Rasmussen presented and discussed how the program has created an open and positive culture within USU Dining Services and encouraged other collegiate dining administrations to step back and evaluate their core values and make it a goal to better their organizations from the inside out. Among many other NACUFS activities, Rasmussen has participated in countless regional and national conferences, as well as taught Webinars on proper catering processes, procedures and certifications

Rasmussen has worked for University Catering for 10 years, and has been in the position of assistant director of University Catering & Special Venues for seven years. She manages on average 60 various events per week throughout the USU community, and some weeks it can reach upwards of more than 100 events. She attributes her successes to her husband of 32 years, her six children, grandchildren and the amazing and hardworking staff within University Catering & Dining Services. Rasmussen truly loves her job and is proud to be within an organization at Utah State University that is always growing, evolving and learning.
