U.S. News & World Report released its 2019 online degree rankings with Utah State University Online recognized as having the 15th best bachelor’s programs nationwide and third best graduate education program. Recognized as the preeminent college ranking system, USNWR conducts an annual competitive screening process of over 300 universities to compile its rankings.
“This latest ranking marks the fifth straight year we’ve been in the Top 20 online bachelor’s degrees,” said Robert Wagner, vice president of Academic and Instructional Services at USU. “Each of our new online offerings goes through rigorous testing and development to ensure they maintain USU’s reputation for quality higher education. This is what allows us to provide online higher education better than anyone in the state.”
According to Wagner, USU currently offers seven online bachelor’s degrees, such as communicative disorders and deaf education, economics and psychology. It also offers 12 online master’s degrees such as instructional technology & learning sciences, with four more launching fall 2019. In addition to its 100 percent online degree programs, USU Online also delivers over 500 individual online courses every semester to nearly 13,000 students in Utah and throughout the world.
“Through USU Online, our university is able to deliver our high-quality courses and instruction to students across the world,” said Francis D. Galey, USU’s executive vice president and provost. “We are dedicated to supporting USU Online with top resources to ensure online students have what they need to be successful.”
According to USNWR, ranking criteria were based on student engagement, faculty credentials, peer reputation, student services and technology. USU faculty who teach online courses continue to surpass the high standards set for the quality of content administered to students.
