Intent-to-Transfer Agreement


The Intent to Transfer Agrement is a specialized transfer agreement that guarantees admission and transfer of credit to Utah State University. In the Intent to Transfer agreement, students who follow a specific course of study and graduate from an eligible program with the required cumulative grade point average (GPA) and prerequisites, are guaranteed admission to Utah State and into their major. Students who sign an Intent to Transfer Education Plan will have access to services and expertise at each school, greatly expanding their resources and options. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with academic advisors at Utah State to ensure that every course taken at their current institution counts towards their Bachelor's Degree.

Currently, Utah State Univeristy has the Intent to Transfer agreement with the following institutions:

  • College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah
  • Snow College in Ephraim, Utah

Benefits to you:

  • You will know what is specifically required in your choice of major before matriculating at Utah State. You will be assured that the graduation requirements will not change once you have committed to the Intent to Transfer Agreement.
  • You will have the confidence knowing that every course you take will count toward your degree completion at Utah State Univeristy.
  • You will connect with your academic advisor as well as department faculty and staff at Utah State earlier and be made aware of academic opportunities within your discipline.
  • You will experience less "transfer shock" when you arrive at Utah State because of your prior preparation.
  • You will have an additional social benefit because you will be connected to Utah State before you physically arrive on campus. If you choose, you can attend athletic, cultural, and student sponsored events as well as establish your USU e-mail account, use the libraries and HPER facilities (but not the Fitness Center) at Utah State for a small additional cost.
  • You will have the opportunity to experience effective academic advising at both institutions as well as career exploration and counseling at Utah State.

Students transferring to Utah State Univeristy will achieve maximum preparation for transfer while at their current institution.
