Checkout, Education, and Advocacy

Blue Bike Checkout

Bicycle checkout is the core of Aggie Blue Bikes.

Checking out a bicycle is free, easy, and only takes about 15 minutes. If you are a student, we need to know your "A" number—have it memorized or written down when you come in. If you are a community member, we need you to bring in you driver's license or a credit card.

Bicycle Checkout is broken down into 5 steps:

  1. When you come in we will find a bike that best fits you.
  2. Then we will have you fill out some paper work that lets us know who you are, generally, and how to contact you. Next we have you read, sign, and date the release of liability agreements.
  3. Lastly we have you take an air quality survey.
  4. Once all of the paperwork is finished we have a small five minute air quality education presentation.
  5. Then you are out the door with you own Blue Bike.

The bicycle is due back when you want to return it up to the second to last day of the corresponding semester.

For additional policies or questions regarding bicycle lending, call Aggie Blue Bikes at (435)797-0964 ext 3 or email us at aggiebluebikes@gmail.com.

Cycling Education: Awaken, Empower, Inspire Action

We firmly believe education is the way to awaken thought, empower individuals and inspire action. At Aggie Blue Bikes we strive to provide classes that will enable cyclists to gain all of the necessary tools to ride and recreate safely and comfortably.

We provide weekly classes that range in subjects from bicycle maintenance classes to air quality classes. We hope that you will join us in this education experience. Best of all, most of our classes are free. So bring your friends and bring you kids. To see our list of classes, go to the Calendar of Classes

Also, as part of our checkout process, each cyclist participates in a bicycle education presentation that informs participants about Cache Valley's air quality situation.

Advocacy: The Active Support of an Idea or Cause

We are actively helping the City of Logan earn its designation as a "Bicycle Friendly Community" from the League of American Bicyclists. As part of that designation we are actively pursuing infrastructure improvements for bicyclists. We are working with community planners to develop a comprehensive bicycle route and trails system in Logan and throughout Cache Valley.

We also actively pursue the education of cyclists and motorists:
