Field Crews

Crew members stand on a mountain top.During the spring, summer, and fall, the Utah Conservation Corps sends crews of 4–8 AmeriCorps members to conduct trail and restoration projects in Utah national parks and forests. As a UCC AmeriCorps crew member, you can find yourself anywhere from the desert silence of Utah's red rock country to the remote alpine wilderness of the Wasatch mountains.

As part of their experience, summer UCC field crew members earn college credit through Utah State University's Department of Environment and Society. For more information on how you can become a UCC crew member, go to the Join UCC section of this website.

Access to Service Inclusive Crew

The inclusive crew operates as one of the summer field crews. Corps members with and without disabilities will complete disability access projects in national parks and forests. For detailed information, go to the inclusive crew section of this website or call Kate at (435) 797-0964 ext 2.

Aggie Blue Bikes

This borrow-a-bike program was created to get more people on bikes more often in an effort to improve Cache Valley air quality and lessen our dependency on oil. Now with 50+ bikes, four employees, and a generous grant, Aggie Blue Bikes makes a large impact in our world through education, bicycle checkouts, and advocacy. For more info on this program, go to the Blue Bike section of this website or call Adam at (435)797-0964 ext 3.

The UCC Bio Bug

The UCC's Bio Bug is a diesel engine volkswagon beetle that runs on biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel is a clean burning alternative fuel, produced from domestic renewable resources such as soybeans, sunflowers, canola, waste cooking oil, or animal fats. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level to create a biodiesel blend. It can be used in compression-ignition (diesel) engines or oil-fire boilers or furnaces with little or NO MODIFICATIONS. Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, non-toxic, and essentailly free of sulfur and aromatics. In the future, the UCC plans to produce their own biodiesel from local waste cooking oil. For more info on biodiesel, visit www.utahbiodiesel.org.

Youth Corps

The UCC has recently partnered with the Logan based Multicultural Outdoor Club to develop a Youth Corps for 16 - 18 year-olds. Youth Corps projects are conducted locally with corps members traveling to and from project sites each day.
