Saturday

USU 13 VS CU B 11

This was the first game of the day and we came out a little lackluster. CU
took the lead early. We called a timeout and things turned around. We came
back and tied it at 11s then we went up 11-10. With game point on the line we
through a zone on them. Tina, Brandon, and Eric where in the cup and were
awesome. After they tried to work our cup to death, we finally got a turn
over. We ended up scoring on a break mark throw in the endzone and WON our
first game of the season

USU 11 VS ISU 13

This was one of the more intense games of the tournament. We played awesome.
We matched ISU on every point up to the last two points of the game. With the
score tied 11-11 one of the ISU players (jon, the twin who always starts
calling fouls, and travels everytime they look like they may lose) called a
foul call on a hospital disc. They scored to make it 12-11. We turned the
disc over and the same dude called another phantom foul call on our player(if
he wouldn't of called the foul it would of been our disc)They ended up scoring
and beating us. Now I don't like to make excuses but this dude was way out of
line calling these foul calls. Our whole team played amazing, it was a fun
game.

USU wins over Fort Lewis

Fort Lewis had a coed team so we decided to just split the teams up and have a
fun game. They were cool and it was a good time.

USU 13-Mines-b 6

It was kind of hard getting up for this game and we kind of came out really
not wanting to play. They matched us points for the first bit but then we
decided we better start playing good so we turned it up a notch and put them
away.

Saturday comments: everyone played so well, The players who stand out are
Brandon and Eric for their awesome D and gettin open on O, and Tuba with his
wicked passes. Tuba played incredible on Saturday and really helped our team
win.

Sunday:

Quarterfinals
USU 13 Nebraska 11

Sunday brought with it cold weather and sore muscles. This was the first time
this year that Sunday games actually mattered to our team. We came out trying
to do to much at once. Our hucks were really swilly and looked like crap and
this resulted in some quick points for Nebraska. We dug ourselves a 3 point
defecit. The score was 8-11 and it looked like we were done for, but this is
when the magic happened. Something happened to Scotty and he made 3 or 4
incredible handblocks in the final points of the game. We came back and
scored 5 straight points to win the game.

Semis
USU 6 New Mexico 15

We came into this game not playing very well. They through a four man cup
that caused us fits. We also had some drops that just killed us. They were a
good team and capitalized on our mistakes. We started getting frustrated
which didn't help. I need to appologize for my yelling on the field during
this game, I was extremely frustrated, tired, and sick which led to some
unneccessary yelling.

Our team played great this tournament, everybody should feel that they helped
out in a big way this tournament. We need to work on breaking the 4 man cup
and also reading the disc.
