This experience can incorporate what happens inside the classroom, including instructional methods, interaction with instructors and group learning and interchange with peers. Outside-the-classroom experiences may include opportunities to engage in research, being introduced to professional organizations, presenting at national conferences, a campus job or internship that that includes professional training and/or being mentored by a faculty member. To support the academic experience of all students, the Academic Subcommittee is charged with:
- building on current best academic practices currently at Utah State University to develop and foster the implementation of initiatives that support the academic experience both in and outside the classroom.
- drawing upon existing and new data resources to develop assessment strategies for academic initiatives as to their impact on retention and student success.
- Further developing mechanisms to insure all students are receiving academic support and assistance.
