Goals
- Develop a common educational experience that connects first-year freshmen and transfer students to the University and their fellow classmates and to USU faculty and staff.
- Positively influence the development of knowledge, academic skills, personal growth, self-reliance, and social responsibility.
- Engage students in utilizing University-wide resources and services.
- Provide an orientation experience to familiarize incoming students with advising, registration, and other services that are available to them.
- Inform students about strategies for selection of an academic major, the process of career decision making, and related resources and services to assist them in developing and implementing personal action plans.
- Engage students in experiences that celebrate and enhance diversity.
- Foster continuous learning outside the classroom through the creation of student centered living/learning communities.
- Foster positive attitudes, personal growth, and change through service to the community through a Service-Learning experience that will prepare students to make lifelong contributions to society.
