Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia got the rockstar treatment Monday at Utah State University, where he argued that laws on “homosexual sodomy” and abortion should be set by “the people,” not judges. The stance comes down to Scalia’s view that there is no way to prove what is right or wrong in these matters, so the Supreme Court should not have greater authority to declare a decision than “Joe Sixpack.” Therefore, society as a whole should choose how to proceed.
