Aggie Fans Encouraged to Show Their School Spirit
Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012
On Thursday and Friday, Aug. 30-31, Utah State University students, alumni and fans will join the nation in College Colors Day, an annual celebration dedicated to promoting college traditions, by wearing their Aggie Blue.
College Colors Day is sponsored by the Collegiate Licensing Company — a division of IMG College, and NCAA Football — in conjunction with Utah State University Trademark Licensing. It encourages fans across the nation to wear their favorite college or university apparel throughout the two days.
“As Aggies, we are well-known for our school pride,” said USU President Stan Albrecht. “This is a great chance to show the nation our fans are as passionate, if not more so, than any other school out there.”
Additionally, College Colors Day coincides with the start of the new school year and the kick-off of 2012-13 intercollegiate athletics seasons. Utah State football will have its season-opener against Southern Utah University Aug. 30. The College Colors Day organization strives to advocate higher education through increased public awareness, and celebrates the achievements of colleges and universities, acknowledging their fundamental importance.
"There is nothing better for school spirit than showing off your school colors,” said Karson Kalian, ASUSU Athletics vice president. “This school is rich in school pride, and our student section, the HURD, is nationally known. There is nothing more I want to see than everyone in the town of Logan wearing Aggie Blue on those days."
