Faculty members from USU's Department of Art and Design have work featured in a new exhibit that can be seen Feb. 15-March 8, including ceramics pieces by John Neely.

Utah State University’s art department faculty showcase their work in depARTment of Art & Design Faculty Exhibition showing in the Tippetts Exhibit Hall at the Chase Fine Arts Center on the Logan campus from Feb. 15 through March 8.

“USU art and design students know the faculty primarily through their work with them in the classroom, so the show gives our students a chance to see the great creative work that their professors do,” said Laura Gelfand, head of the Department of Art and Design. “We are fortunate to have incredible artists on the faculty.”

The exhibit features a variety of two- and three-dimensional artwork, including paintings, photographs, sculpture, prints and ceramics. Participating faculty members and their emphasis areas include: John Neely, ceramics; Dennise Gackstetter, art education; Jane Catlin, painting and drawing; Kathy Puzey, printmaking; Woody Shepherd, painting; Christopher Terry, painting and drawing; Todd Hayes, ceramics; Ryoichi Suzuki, sculpture; David Wall, art history; Jerome Murphy, ceramics; Deborah Banerjee, interim deputy director of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art; Carsten Meier, photography; Robert Winward, graphic design; and Chris Gauthier, photography.

“The department of art and design faculty members show their work all over the world but rarely in Cache Valley,” said Jane Catlin, associate professor of drawing and painting in the Caine College of the Arts. “This is a chance to see world-class art right here at home.”

depARTment of Art & Design Faculty Exhibition can be seen in the Tippetts Exhibit Hall, in the Chase Fine Arts Center, open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the CCA Box Office in room 139-B of the Chase Fine Arts Center, call 435-797-8022 or see the college’s Production Services website.
