Flags at Half-Staff

Utah Gov. Gary R. Herbert has authorized the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and Utah’s state flag Monday, July 15, in honor or First Sergeant Tracy L. Stapley of Clearfield, Utah.

 

The flags will be flown at half-staff at all state facilities from sunrise to sunset July 15.

 

1st Sgt. Stapley died July 3 in Doha, Qatar, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a first sergeant assigned to the Army’s 308th Medical Logistics Company out of St. George and was supporting the war in Afghanistan.

 

A “life celebration” will be held for 1st Sgt. Stapley Monday, July 15, at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road.
