See the best of the 2013 Logan Film Festival and plan ahead for 2014's events.

Utah State Film, a club at Utah State University, will hold an Independent Movie Night Sept. 24 in the Taggart Student Center Auditorium on USU’s Logan campus. The event will feature four of Logan Film Festival’s best films from spring 2013.

“We want to give the students a preview of the festival, show them how cool the films really are, and help them unleash their inner hipster,” said Jesse Budd, president of Utah State Film.

The featured films that evening are Pyro & Klepto, Light Me Up, The Red Valentine and Paulie.

Pyro and Klepto is an American Film Institution Thesis Film. AFI is ranked among the best film schools in the world. Pyro and Klepto had a budget of approximately half a million dollars.

The Red Valentine was voted the best short narrative in the 2013 Logan Film Festival.

Light Me Up was given the Grand Prize Award at the Reel Teal Film Festival, as well as the Best Animated Short Award at the Geneva Film Festival.

Paulie won best comedy at the LA short-film festival.

Best of Fest Movie Night is held in the TSC auditorium from 8-9 p.m. Admission is free and is open to the public.

The film night is in celebration of a date change for the Logan Film Festival, which has been held in the spring for the past two years, and will now be held Sept. 11-13, 2014.
