USU Extension Hosts Permaculture Workshop

LOGAN—Utah State University Extension Sustainability hosts a Permaculture Workshop on Friday, Sept. 27, through Saturday, Sept. 28, in Logan, and on Monday, Sept. 30, through Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Moab.

The first day in Logan will be at the American West Heritage Center and the second day will be at the USU campus. National expert and author in the fields of permaculture and ecological restoration, Joel Glanzberg, will teach concepts and skills about creating a permaculture garden in yards and gardens by relying on renewable resources and self-sustaining ecosystems. He will also help USU implement the campus’s first permaculture garden.

The Moab workshop also has two different locations. Monday’s events will be held at the USU Moab Campus located at 125 West 200 South, and Tuesday’s will be at a Community Rebuilds strawbale home in town where a community permaculture garden will be created. Directions to the garden site will be provided on Monday. Workshop participants will be help implement the garden.

Workshops are open to the public. Individuals can register at http://extension.usu.edu/sustainability/htm/programs. Registration cost is $25 for adults and $15 for students.
