Utah State University's Department of Music in the Caine College of the Arts presents the popular dinner-dancing entertainment "Jazz Night at the Sky Club" Feb. 14-15 at the Logan Golf and Country Club. A special student only dance night is Feb 13.

The Logan Golf and Country Club will be transformed into a 1930s jazz nightclub for the annual “Jazz Night at the Sky Club” presented Feb. 13-15 by Utah State University’s Department of Music in the Caine College of the Arts. The country club (710 N. 1500 E., Logan) is a new venue this year for the popular entertainment.

The evening includes fine dining, live jazz music and dancing, with proceeds supporting the Larry Smith Jazz Scholarship. A Student-Only Dance Night is planned for Feb. 13.

Enjoy live Big Band music performed by USU Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble and jazz vocalists, along with performances by professor emeritus Larry Smith, who will rock the Sky Club to the unforgettable jazz tunes of Glenn Miller, Bobby Darin, Ella Fitzgerald and more, said Denise Albiston, director of marketing and public relations at the Caine College of the Arts.

“Big Band music draws you to the dance floor to experience the Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Charleston and more,” she said.

Jazz Night on Feb. 14-15 will feature traditional dinner and dance packages. A reception from 6-7 p.m. starts the event, with dinner served at 7 p.m. and the dance follows.

Feb. 13 features a student night only event. USU students are invited to learn the Jitterbug, Charleston and more free from 6-7 p.m. with the dance starting at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 student tickets are $10 with dessert bar provided.

“For those who enjoy an evening of fine dining and dancing to big band music, this event is pretty irresistible,” said James Bankhead, head of the Department of Music at USU. “The dance music by the USU Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra is incredible, the food is excellent and the dancing is enjoyable.”

Tickets for “Jazz Night at the Sky Club” are $50 for the public and $45 for seniors. Tickets are available at the CCA Box Office room 139-B in the Chase Fine Arts Center on USU’s Logan campus, by calling (435) 797-8022 or online at the college’s Production Services website.
