USU’s Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services in Top 30

School Ranks Seventh in Nation for Total Research Dollars Received

 

LOGAN —“U.S. News and World Report”magazine has again named the graduate programs in Utah State University’s Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services among the top tier of colleges of education in the nation.

 

In the 2015 edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools,” the magazine ranked the college 28th  in the nation overall against all graduate colleges of education. Of significant note, the college was ranked seventh in the nation in total research dollars received by a college, with faculty and staff securing $41.8 million in funded research dollars. It is the only school of education in Utah to place in the top 50.

The "U.S. News & World Report" bases its rankings on a weighted average of 10 quality measures, including peer assessments, faculty resources, faculty awards and GRE scores for doctoral students.

 

The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services at Utah State University is committed to offering high quality graduate and undergraduate programs in education and human services that are innovative and widely accessible. The college is also dedicated to establishing and maintaining nationally visible research centers that advance knowledge and professional practices.

 

Highlights from the "U.S. News & World Report" rankings:

  • Emma Eccles Jones College of Education keeps holds spot No. 28 on the 2015 List of Best Education Schools
  • College also ranked No. 7 in funded research (No. 5 in public institutions) with $41.8 million in funding for 2013
  • College remains the only school of education in Utah to place in the Top 50

  • 100 percent job placement in 18 Secondary Education fields among certified graduates who sought jobs (University Council on Teacher Education Annual Report)
  • 98 percent job placement for certified graduates seeking special education jobs; 97 percent job placement for certified Elementary Education graduates (University Council on Teacher Education Annual Report)
  • The number of certified graduates who sought special education jobs went from 97 to 98 percent job placement, and certified elementary education graduates went from 95 to 97 percent (University Council on Teacher Education Annual Report)
