USU Guitar Ensembles Spring Concert

Plugged In or Unplugged — They’ll All Be There April 21

LOGAN — Utah State University’s Department of Music presents the annual spring Guitar Ensembles concert Monday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall on USU’s Logan campus.

“This program will feature both acoustic guitar and electric guitar ensembles,” said Corey Christiansen, professor of guitar in the Caine College of the Arts. “The evening will even have music from the Dominican Republic played by the electric guitar trio accompanied by Dominican percussionists.”

Music majors participate in ensemble groups in order to sharpen their skills and prepare for the professional world.

“This semester we will play everything from George Gershwin to John Coltrane,” said Christiansen. “There is going to be something for everyone to enjoy in this concert.”

Tickets for Guitar Ensembles are $10 general admission, $8 seniors and youth, $5 USU faculty and staff and free for USU students with ID. For more information and tickets, visit the CCA Box Office located in room 139-B of the Chase Fine Arts Center on USU’s campus, call 435-797-8022 or go online at arts.usu.edu.
