For the first and only time this season, Utah State University's men and women's track and field teams will be competing within the friendly confines of their home stadium. The Aggies, along with athletes from seven other teams, will compete Friday and Saturday, April 18-19, in the Mark Faldmo Invitational at Ralph Maughan Track Stadium in Logan, Utah.

Competing in the meet are athletes from BYU, Gillette College (Wyo.), Idaho State, Utah, Utah Valley, Weber State and Westminster College (Utah), along with USU.

The Mark Faldmo Invitational begins Friday at 4 p.m. (MT) with the men and women's hammer throw, as well as the women's pole vault. Friday's competition ends at 5 p.m. with the men and women's 3,000m run.

Action will resume Saturday with the men and women's discus, shot put and long jump at 10 a.m. and the meet wraps up at 3:15 p.m. with the men and women's 4x400m relay race.

“The home meet is always the focal-event of the year for the track team, it’s the only meet we host,” said Aggie veteran head coach Gregg Gensel. “It gives an opportunity for the athletes to showcase their talents in front of not only their family and friends but also their teammates and people in the valley. We want to show people that we have a good team and give them a chance to witness it firsthand.”

Full results and a recap of each day's action will be posted on the USU Athletics website following the completion of events.
