Two Utah State [University] women’s tennis players have been included in the final Mountain Region rankings for the 2013-14 season, released Wednesday [June 4, 2014] by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Junior McKenzie Davis is ranked at No. 12 in the final singles play rankings. Davis went 20-5 on the season at the No. 1 position. With her 17 duel wins in the spring, she set a school record for most individual wins in a season. She opened the spring dual-match season on a nine-match winning streak and ended the year on a 7-1 streak.

In the doubles rankings, Davis and her partner, sophomore Kallie Sperry, are ranked eighth in the region. The duo went 18-7 on the season, with a 3-2 Mountain West record. The two played together at the No. 1 position in all but five matches of the year.

“We had a great overall team season and that is never possible without high-level and consistent individual results,” said head coach Sean McInerney. “I am really happy that both McKenzie and Kallie have been recognized among the best players in the Mountain Region.”
