GSS History
Adam is completing a dual masters in electrical engineering and business administration, hoping to one day become a graduate and begin the next phase
of his life. He is happily married to his wife, Eve. In addition to spending time with her, Adam enjoys reading, swimming, riding motorcycles,
fixing things, and being with other people. His previous experience in student government involves being a department representative to the GSS,
and serving as engineering senator on the academic senate in ASUSU.

In 2004-05 the GSS saw many accomplishments and improvements. I feel this year has been a wonderful success. In partnership with an interim
Graduate School administration, we have seen progress on many levels. My goal was to transform the Senate from a struggling organization to
a competent, meaningful, and successful organization. I strongly feel that graduate student presence is both merited and desired in all
university decisions. Said decisions, made on a university level, should reflect the needs and desires of Graduate Students. This was my
goal and I hope those that follow me will carry on those things I have begun.
During my administration I felt we accomplished many great things. Such as:
- Professional Development Fund created
- Revamping of travel applications forms
- SGW Bill passed through ASUSU
- ASUSU Restructuring—Graduates positioned to separate away from ASUSU
- TSC Wall Mural authorized to demonstrate graduate student accomplishment across campus—A Gradate Student Legacy for generations to come
- ASUSU Legacy—A library projection screen was made financially possible by the student body for the new Merrill-Cazier Library as proposed by myself
- Additional benefits to insurance plan were added
- Acquired additional funding for graduate students from ASUSU—$15,000
- Symposium added to Research Week Agenda, graduate student participation doubled, handbook published
- GSS restructured and 80% attendance to meetings throughout academic year
- Active member on many university committees
- Recruiter for Graduate School (Rexburg, Boise, Denver, Arizona)
- Additional office improvements such as A-frames, digital camera, and fax machine
- Active on Graduate Dean Search Committee
- Washington DC Lobbyist
- Served on several ad-hoc committees
- Improved and enhanced GSS web site
I would like to thank Utah State University for the chance I was given to serve my fellow colleagues. Graduate students are a crucial part of our
university and as we become more involved with the issues at hand, we will inevitably see progress. I wish the best to all my fellow graduate
students and my all your dreams come true.
