Bio
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and attended Missouri State University. I earned a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in wildlife conservation and
environmental sciences. After 24 years in Missouri, I looked west in search of mountains and streams, and landed at USU where I am pursuing a M.S.
in Ecology. For my thesis, I am using computer modeling programs to look at the changes in distributions of two species of fish across Colorado under
climate change scenarios. In my copious free time, I like to read, and take on any new outdoor activities that Logan Canyon throws at me.
Initiatives & Goals
My first goal is to acquaint myself with the GSS and ASUSU and try to make my presence known.
I've been in contact with CNR's Graduate Student Council and I plan on keeping up this contact throughout my tenure as the GSS senator so that we can serve our grad students as best as we can.
-
One specific issue that has been brought to my attention by many grad students in CNR and Biology is the aggiemail email account. They feel,
as do I, that this is not a professional address, and many students are reluctant to use it when giving presentations at national conferences,
applying for grants, submitting to journals, etc... I plan on looking into the issue more in the coming months, but it is one that I think
needs to be addressed.
I'd also like to see the graduate students have more of a presence on campus, I've only been here since January, but we don't appear to have much of a presence.
