Are you interested in running for the 2015 USUSA Elections? If so, please download, print and fill out the Declaration of Candidacy in the Elections Packet. Declarations must be returned to the Student Involvement and Leadership Office (TSC 326) no later than Monday, January 26 at 4:30 p.m.

USUSA Executive Council Position Summaries:


USUSA President:

Responsibilities

  • Chair all meetings of the USUSA Executive Council.
  • Represent Utah State University students at events, including recruitment events, awards, and any other needs.
  • Chair, or appoint a chair for President's Cabinet.

Scholarships:

  • $3500/scholarship each semester
  • $1000/monthly stipend

Executive VP:

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chair of and facilitate needed changes in the statutes of the:
    • USUSA Academic Senate
    • USUSA Academic Opportunity Fund
    • USUSA Classroom Improvement Committee
    • USUSA Sophomore Scholarship Committee
    • Student Fee Board

Scholarships:

  • $3000/scholarship each semester
  • $300/monthly stipend

Student Advocate VP:

Responsibilities

  • Represent student concerns over local, state, and federal government, student services, auxiliary services, student government, and university administration.
  • Organize, direct, and chair (or appoint a chair to) the Government Relations Council and USU Student Lobbyists (GRC). awards, and any other needs.
  • Chair the Student Voice Committee (SVC).

Scholarships:

  • $3000/scholarship each semester
  • $300/monthly stipend

Programming VP:

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the quality of student life at Utah State University through planning and implementation of student activities.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the planning, initiating, calendaring and administration of student-oriented activities on the campus of Utah State.
  • Be the voice of the Programming Directors on the Executive Council.

Scholarships:

  • $3000/scholarship each semester
  • $300/monthly stipend

Athletics and Campus Recreation VP:

Responsibilities

  • Chair the Aggie Life and Wellness Center and Legacy Field Policy Board and Campus Recreation Policy Board.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the planning, initiating, calendaring and administration of student-oriented activities on the campus of Utah State.
  • Shall be a Liaison between the athletic administration and students. She/he shall meet regularly with administration as a means of providing student input in the disposition of student fees or any other student related concerns.

Diversity VP:

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the Council of Student clubs and Organizations (CSCO).
  • Shall be responsible for coordinating the activities and programs of campus organizations.
  • Work cohesively with all members of the USUSA EC in programming efforts toward diversity promotion.

Service VP:

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for providing leadership and service opportunities for students and faculty by directing the USUSA-Val R. Christensen Service Center.
  • Plan and carry out traditional campus-wide service projects including the Blood Battle, Sub for Santa's Stuff a Bus, Service Fairs and Service Week.
  • Chair monthly Director Meetings and weekly Council meetings and also hold two training retreats, one in the fall and one in the Spring Semesters.

Scholarships:

  • $3000/scholarship each semester
  • $300/monthly stipend

Graduate Studies Senator:

Responsibilities

  • Work as the primary liaison between the school of Graduate Studies, USUSA Executive Council and Academic Senate.
  • Coordinate all appointments of graduate students to University and Faculty Senate Committees.
  • Chair monthly Director Meetings and weekly Council meetings and also hold two training retreats, one in the fall and one in the Spring Semesters.

USUSA Academic Senate Position Summaries:

Each college will elect one student to represent their student body throughout the school year. Each senator has different responsibilities depending on the college, but each senator is expected to:

  • Create a council of students to help execute the senator's initiatives and plan the College Week.
  • Serve as a member of the USUSA Academic Senate and meet weekly.

Scholarships:

  • $2800/scholarship each semester
